From the Madill Record:  Three days were required to travel from Madill to Rush Springs in 1894 when this group attended the territorial Grand Lodge session to secure the charter of the Oakland Lodge.   Representing the lodge were (from left) John Vandervort, J. H. Creekmore, Henry M. Hollingsworth of Mannsville and W. T. Ward, brother-in-law of Creekmore.  The gun held by Ward, according to accounts, was to insure a peaceful journey.
